Claude Code 2.1.62: Failed to parse marketplace file (plugins.N.source: Invalid input)
When I try to add the official Anthropics plugins marketplace with
/plugin marketplace add anthropics/claude-plugins-officialin Claude Code 2.1.62 (stable channel, macOS), I getFailed to parse marketplace filewith manyplugins.N.source: Invalid inputerrors. The issue is still open on the stable release channel. The parser in Claude Code 2.1.62 rejects the official marketplace with
plugins.N.source: Invalid inputerrors; the failing plugin indices differ between users, so it is not one specific bad plugin.No root cause has been given yet. One workaround suggested in the thread is to leave the stable channel: change the update channel to
latestand runClaude Update. This was offered as a quick fix, but nobody in the thread explicitly reported the result of trying it.Another user reported that updating the CLI directly with:
npm install -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code@latestfixes the issue.
After updating, retry:
/plugin marketplace add anthropics/claude-plugins-officialIf you must stay on the stable release channel, there is no confirmed fix yet; you would need to wait for the next stable release.

Deleted the marketplace and added it again, but the same parse error still occurred.
