Does the latest cc-switch support opencode for managing AI providers?
An issue asked cc-switch to add support for opencode; commenters wanted it because opencode's built-in provider setup is inconvenient and they prefer central configuration management. The issue was closed as completed — does the latest cc-switch version support opencode now?

Fixed: a cc-switch collaborator confirmed on 2026-01-22 that the latest version supports opencode, and the issue was closed as completed.
The thread was a feature request asking cc-switch to adapt opencode, which the reporter described as "an open-source cc". A contributor first suggested using opencode's own client at opencode.ai/download and asked whether the requester wanted configuration sync between cc-switch and opencode. Several users still wanted support, saying opencode's built-in provider setup is inconvenient and that they prefer to manage configurations centrally as they use more coding tools. One user built and shared their own alternative, ai-toolbox (github.com/coulsontl/ai-toolbox), and another commenter said they would try it.
To use it: update cc-switch to the latest version; opencode should then be available as a supported client. The thread does not describe the exact UI steps or config format, so check the release notes for the version you install. If you want a community-built option for provider management, ai-toolbox was shared in the thread as an alternative.
General advice: when a feature-request issue is closed as completed, update the tool and read its release notes before looking for workarounds.
