    mcp-toolbox missing Linux/ARM64 build: how to build from source?

    How can I run googleapis/mcp-toolbox on Linux/ARM64 (for example, Raspberry Pi or Ampere) when released binaries only cover amd64 and Darwin/arm64? Building from source hits Oracle dependency issues, and I need this for multi-platform container images.

      Still open as of July 2026: Linux/ARM64 is on the maintainers' backlog, no official Linux/ARM64 release artifact is available yet, and the thread does not report that the source build succeeded. Maintainers said they welcome a community PR and pointed to #3231 and #3232 as examples; contributor @mooyoul later opened PR #3731 for this support.

      For now, the only concrete build approach in the thread is the source build that a community member shared for v1.2.0. It removes the Oracle import from cmd/internal/imports.go and compiles with Go:

      bash
      apt-get install --yes --quiet --no-install-recommends golang
      curl -fsSL "https://github.com/googleapis/mcp-toolbox/archive/refs/tags/v1.2.0.tar.gz" | tar -xz -C /tmp
      sed -i '/".*oracle.*/d' "/tmp/mcp-toolbox-1.2.0/cmd/internal/imports.go"
      (cd "/tmp/mcp-toolbox-1.2.0" && CGO_ENABLED=0 GOOS=linux GOARCH=arm64 go build -o /usr/local/bin/toolbox .)

      That commenter said the build "ran into issues with Oracle dependencies," so the sed delete is meant to drop that dependency; the thread does not state whether the resulting build actually worked. For amd64, the same snippet downloads a prebuilt binary from https://storage.googleapis.com/mcp-toolbox-for-databases/v1.2.0/${TARGETOS}/${TARGETARCH}/toolbox, but no linux/arm64 artifact is available at that URL yet.

      What @jameshearttech tried on GitHub (Outcome unclear)

      Tried building mcp-toolbox v1.2.0 from source in a dev container and hit issues with Oracle dependencies. The shared Containerfile removes the Oracle import from cmd/internal/imports.go, then runs CGO_ENABLED=0 GOOS=linux GOARCH=arm64 go build. The thread does not report the result.

      What @mooyoul tried on GitHub (Outcome unclear)

      Opened PR #3731 to add Linux/ARM64 support. The thread does not say whether it was merged or produced a release.
