BigQuery MCP list_table_ids only returns 50 tables – was this fixed?

  Fixed: the issue is closed as completed, and a comment dated 2026-03-03 says "This is fixed." An earlier comment dated 2026-01-15 said the fix was being worked on. The thread does not mention a specific version number, release date, or what was changed internally, and no client-side configuration workaround was shared.

  The problem affected the managed BigQuery MCP server on Vertex AI (google-bigquery.googleapis.com-mcp). A Google ADK agent using model gemini-2.0-flash, run locally with adk web, called list_table_ids on a dataset with 54 tables. The tool returned only 50 table IDs, and the missing ones matched the tables not shown on the BigQuery console's default 50-row page.

  If you still see a 50-table limit after the fix, the thread does not document any workaround. As general advice, check that the BigQuery MCP server you are connecting to has been updated to a version released after 2026-03-03, since the fix is not described as a change you can make from the client side.

  Reporter connected a Google ADK agent (model gemini-2.0-flash) to the managed BigQuery MCP server on Vertex AI and ran it with adk web. Calling list_table_ids on a dataset with 54 tables returned only 50 table IDs, matching the BigQuery UI's default 50-row page.
