Product
n8n
CVE
CVE-2026-59207
Affected
n8n >= 2.28.0, < 2.28.1 and n8n < 2.27.4
Fixed in
2.28.1 and 2.27.4

Last verified against sources: October 26, 2026

Am I affected?

n8n: affected n8n >= 2.28.0, < 2.28.1 and n8n < 2.27.4. Fixed in 2.28.1 and 2.27.4.

  • Check your version: run npm ls n8n. Versions >= 2.28.0, < 2.28.1 of n8n are affected. [1]

What to do now

  1. Upgrade to the fixed version: run npm install n8n@2.28.1 (first patched version 2.28.1). [1]
  2. Upgrade to n8n version 2.28.1 or 2.27.4 or later. [1]
  3. Disable the AI Agents module by removing agents from the N8N_ENABLED_MODULES environment variable. [1]
  4. Restrict credential sharing to fully trusted users only. [1]
  5. Audit credentials with domain restrictions for unexpected sharing relationships. [1]

General practice, not from the source: if the affected software could read tokens or credentials, rotate them after upgrading; pin versions and review changes before updating tools your agents run.

Discuss this incident

What happened

  • The AI Agents feature did not enforce the "Allowed HTTP Request Domains" restriction configured on credentials. [1]
  • This issue only affects instances where the AI Agents module is enabled via N8N_ENABLED_MODULES=agents and at least one credential with domain restrictions has been shared with a member-level user. [1]

Impact

  • A member-level user who had been granted use-only access to a shared credential could cause its secret to be sent to an external server they control, by pointing an MCP tool at an arbitrary URL and running the agent. [1]

What was done

  • The issue has been fixed in n8n version 2.28.1 and 2.27.4. [1]
  • Users should upgrade to this version or later to remediate the vulnerability. [1]
