MiniMax-MCP: "empty input (2013)" on key creation, and Cline connection failures
I'm setting up MiniMax-MCP and key creation keeps failing with "参数有误，请调整输入后重试 empty input (2013)". After I finally got a key, the MCP server also fails when used from the Cline client. What causes these errors and how do I get a working setup?

Status: The key-creation error was resolved — the issue is closed as completed. The later failure inside Cline is a known compatibility issue explained by the maintainer.
"参数有误，请调整输入后重试 empty input (2013)" when creating a key: one user in the thread reported that refreshing the page fixed it and noted the MiniMax website is generally very laggy. No cause was confirmed by the maintainer. If refreshing doesn't help, the maintainer asked for a screenshot of the error and offered a WeChat group for direct support.
Failure after getting the key, when using Cline: the maintainer states Cline currently has an adaptation/compatibility issue with Python-based MCP servers (see cline/cline#1272) that doesn't prevent usage. Two options were given:
- Use a different MCP client.

The thread does not confirm whether either workaround was actually tested.
General advice: for an ambiguous "empty input" error on a hosted key-creation page, refresh and retry before changing your own configuration.

A commenter refreshed the page and the key creation then succeeded; they noted the MiniMax website is generally very slow.

After eventually obtaining a key, the reporter tried using it from the Cline client and hit a new failure.

The maintainer explained that Cline has a compatibility issue with Python MCP servers (citing cline/cline#1272) and suggested switching clients or using the JS version, MiniMax-MCP-JS, which offers the same functionality.
