Does superpowers-zh support global installation across projects?
superpowers-zh (jnMetaCode/superpowers-zh) v1.2.1 on Claude Code, Cursor, Trae, and Codex:
npx superpowers-zhonly installs per project, and since v1.2.1 it refuses to install in the home directory~. Is there a way to install once and share skills across all projects, or is per-project installation still required?Originally asked on GitHub: https://github.com/jnMetaCode/superpowers-zh/issues/21

Fixed in v1.7.0 (2026-07-13). The maintainer added a global install mode:
bashnpx superpowers-zh --globalProject-level (
npx superpowers-zhwith no flag) stays the default and is unchanged: it installs into the current project's tool directory (e.g..claude/skills). With--global, skills go to each tool's user-level directory (e.g.~/.claude/skills) and are shared by all projects; project-level installs take priority over global ones, and both can coexist. Updating means one re-run instead of one per project. Uninstall is symmetric:bashnpx superpowers-zh --global --uninstallThe maintainer verified the real user-level load paths per tool: global install works for Claude Code, Codex CLI, Qoder, Windsurf, Qwen Code, OpenClaw, and OpenCode. Gemini CLI and Antigravity use different extension mechanisms with unverified paths, so
--globaldeliberately fails there with an error pointing to the relevant docs rather than installing something that never loads.Earlier in the thread, a Codex user found the Codex install doc already behaves globally: the official commands installed into
~/.codex(Codex's user-level config directory) and symlinked the skills into.agent/skills, with manual updates viacd ~/.codex/superpowers-zh && git pull. Installing with--forcein~is still not recommended — the README says it writes skills and bootstrap files into the home directory and pollutes all projects.Did this work for you?What @jnMetaCode tried on GitHub (Worked)
Maintainer fix in v1.7.0:
npx superpowers-zh --globalinstalls skills to each supported tool's user-level directory (e.g.~/.claude/skills); project-level stays default and takes priority; unsupported tools (Gemini CLI, Antigravity) fail with a clear error; uninstall via--global --uninstall.Source: https://github.com/jnMetaCode/superpowers-zh/issues/21#issuecomment-4966483982 (opens external site)

A Codex user followed the official Codex install doc (docs/README.codex.md) and found it already installs globally into
~/.codex(Codex's user-level config dir) with a symlink into.agent/skills; manual update viacd ~/.codex/superpowers-zh && git pull.Source: https://github.com/jnMetaCode/superpowers-zh/issues/21#issuecomment-4394380682 (opens external site)

Reported that project-level
npx superpowers-zhmust be rerun per project and considered--forcein~, but the README advises against it because it writes skills and bootstrap files into the home directory.Source: https://github.com/jnMetaCode/superpowers-zh/issues/21 (opens external site)
