Does git-mcp support AugmentCode (VS Code plugin)?
I'm trying to use git-mcp (idosal/git-mcp) with AugmentCode, a VS Code plugin. A user on the issue tracker followed the VS Code integration guide but couldn't get it working properly. Was AugmentCode support added, and where are the working setup steps?

Status: Fixed — the maintainer closed this issue on 2025-05-23 with the note "Closed by #161," so AugmentCode support was added via PR #161.
The thread does not contain the setup steps. A commenter reported that they followed the VS Code integration guide (because AugmentCode is a VS Code plugin) and couldn't get it working properly; they didn't include their git-mcp version, OS, or the exact error. The maintainer's reply was to ask whether that commenter wanted to contribute the instructions, so no working configuration is documented here. The next step is to look at PR #161 to see what it changed.
General advice for any VS Code-based MCP client: register the MCP server in the client's MCP server settings, do a full restart after changing the settings, and check the client's MCP/log output panel for errors.
