Grok-4-fast returns no text with Octocode MCP in Cursor

I'm using the octocode MCP server in Cursor with the grok-4-fast model, but the model returns no text response. Other models still respond while the MCP server is enabled, and grok-4-fast works as soon as I turn the MCP server off. Is this a Cursor issue, an octocode issue, or something about Grok? Is there a fix?

Fixed. The octocode maintainer traced the problem to a compatibility issue between octocode's MCP server and @modelcontextprotocol/typescript-sdk (the Server vs McpServer import), and to Grok being stricter about schema definitions than most models. Update octocode-mcp to 6.1.0 from npm; the reporter confirmed that version works in Cursor with grok-4-fast and the MCP server enabled. The maintainer also tested 6.1.0 successfully with Cursor and grok-code-fast-1. If you are on an older version, upgrading to 6.1.0 is the fix that worked in this thread.

What a GitHub user tried on GitHub (Didn't work)

The reporter used grok-4-fast in Cursor with the octocode MCP server enabled and received no text response. Other models still responded, and disabling the MCP server made grok-4-fast respond again.

What @thethien8a tried on GitHub (Worked)

After the maintainer suggested trying version 6.1.0, the reporter tested it and confirmed the model now works properly with the octocode MCP server enabled in Cursor.
