Figma-Context-MCP: why does my AI host pick the wrong tool, and what changed in v0.1.6?
Using Figma-Context-MCP with an AI host, the model often does not know whether to call get_node or get_file because the names are not self-explanatory, so it picks the wrong tool. No client or OS details or error message were given in the issue, but the maintainer shipped a fix. What should I do to get the new tool naming?

Fixed in version 0.1.6 of Figma-Context-MCP. The maintainer said they were combining get_node and get_file into one tool with an optional nodeId argument, and in the 0.1.6 release that combined tool shipped as get_figma_data. The maintainer also said the new tool description is intended to encourage models to include a nodeId whenever one appears in the user's message or Figma link. In the same release, download_images was renamed to download_figma_images and now supports downloading multiple images at once, which reduces the total number of tool calls.
To use the new names, upgrade the MCP server to version 0.1.6. The reporter's suggested names, get_figma_design_by_id() and get_figma_file_by_id(), were not adopted; a single combined tool was chosen instead. As general advice, if you still see the old tool names after upgrading, verify that the running MCP server process is actually the new version and reconnect or restart the MCP client so it reloads the server's tool list, since clients usually fetch the available tools when the connection is established.

The reporter suggested renaming get_node and get_file to clearer names such as get_figma_design_by_id() or get_figma_file_by_id(), because the model was not reliably choosing the right tool.

Did this work for you? What @GLips tried on GitHub (Worked)
The maintainer released v0.1.6, which combines get_node and get_file into get_figma_data, renames download_images to download_figma_images, and adds support for downloading multiple images in one call.
