How can I add a library from a custom Git URL in Context7?
In Context7's "Add Libraries" flow, I can only choose GitHub, GitLab, OpenAPI, LLMs.txt, or Website, but some of my libraries live in Git repositories on other hosting platforms. For example, I could not index https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux (opens external site) either as a website or as Git. Is there now a way to add a library from a custom Git URL?

Fixed. A Context7 collaborator announced on 2026-02-24 that custom Git URL support is released and closed the ticket as completed. The feature is available at https://context7.com/add-library?tab=git (opens external site).
The thread does not describe the form fields or exact UI beyond the address with the git tab, so start by opening that link and trying the Git option there. One user had reported earlier that https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux (opens external site) could not be indexed either as a website or as a Git repository, which is the kind of case this feature is meant to cover. No further configuration steps, CLI commands, or version details are given in the thread. If the page asks for repository details not mentioned here, check the Context7 documentation or the page itself rather than assuming the same input format as GitHub or GitLab.

A commenter tried to add https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux (opens external site) to Context7 before the custom Git feature existed and found it could not be indexed as a website or as a Git repository.
