VS Code 1.139 keeps prompting Copilot sign-in with GitHub Enterprise (ghe.com) — is it fixed?
After upgrading VS Code from 1.138.0 to 1.139.0 on Windows, Copilot keeps showing a sign-in prompt for a GitHub Enterprise (ghe.com) account, even after signing in successfully. Some users saw the Agents window report unauthenticated while the status bar still showed token usage. Is there a fix, and how do I stop the repeated prompt?

Status: a maintainer said fixes were added after 1.139, and users reported the prompt stopped in later builds. One commenter confirmed the latest Insiders build fixed it, and another user on 1.142 said the popup had not appeared recently. Another user still saw the dialog on stable 1.140.0, so 1.140.0 may not include the fix.
Workaround while the prompt keeps appearing: sign in to your GHE account successfully, then press
ESCto dismiss the dialog. One user reported Copilot then worked normally because the login had succeeded. What to do: update VS Code to a newer build, such as the latest stable or Insiders, and check whether the prompt still appears. The thread does not show a config change, so no
.mcp.jsonor settings edit is documented as the fix.If the prompt still appears on a current build, report it with your VS Code version, OS, and GHE sign-in URL so maintainers can reproduce it.

After signing into the GHE account, pressing ESC dismissed the repeated sign-in dialog and Copilot kept working because the login had succeeded.

Did this work for you? What @giano574 tried on GitHub (Didn't work)
A user on stable 1.140.0 still got the sign-in dialog frequently, so that release did not appear to contain the fix for them.
