    JetBrains MCP proxy: connected but no available tools in Claude

    I installed the MCP Server plugin in PyCharm, added @jetbrains/mcp-proxy to Claude's config (claude_desktop_config.json), and the server appears without errors, but the MCP tools list is empty. Claude can't act on my project, and one user's logs show 'No working IDE endpoint available' when tools/list is called. Does proxy v1.5.0 fix this, and what config should I use?

      The issue is closed as COMPLETED: the maintainer published proxy v1.5.0 on 2025-01-07 saying it fixed the connection to the IDE, although one commenter reported the problem remained for them. Logs posted by another commenter show the proxy starting and connecting to Claude, but tools/list returning {"error":{"code":-32603,"message":"No working IDE endpoint available."}}, meaning the proxy could not reach the JetBrains IDE plugin.

      Original setup steps from the thread: install the MCP Server plugin in PyCharm, add @jetbrains/mcp-proxy to the Claude config, and the server should appear in the client. If the tool list stays empty, first try the official proxy v1.5.0.

      If that still fails, a commenter shared a working config in claude_desktop_config.json using their fork:

      json
      {
        "mcpServers": {
          "jetbrains": {
            "command": "npx",
            "args": ["-y", "@kamlesh502/mcp-proxy"],
            "env": {
              "LOG_ENABLED": "true",
              "IDE_PORT": "63342",
              "HOST": "127.0.0.1"
            }
          }
        }
      }

      The commenter stated they fixed this issue in that package. The README description says the server proxies requests from the client to the JetBrains IDE, so the intended purpose is to let Claude reach the running IDE. The thread does not explain how to troubleshoot when the official proxy still cannot find the IDE endpoint beyond enabling logging via LOG_ENABLED.

      What a GitHub user tried on GitHub (Didn't work)

      Installed the MCP Server plugin in PyCharm and added @jetbrains/mcp-proxy to the Claude config. The server appeared without error, but no MCP tools were listed and Claude could not work with the project.

      What @jalenzz tried on GitHub (Didn't work)

      Tried the new official proxy version 1.5.0 released by the maintainer to fix the IDE connection. The commenter reported the problem still existed.

      What @Kamlesh502 tried on GitHub (Worked)

      Shared a claude_desktop_config.json using @kamlesh502/mcp-proxy with LOG_ENABLED, IDE_PORT 63342, and HOST 127.0.0.1, and stated this package fixed the issue.

      What @NaikSoftware tried on GitHub (Didn't work)

      Posted proxy logs showing the server connected to Claude, but tools/list returned 'No working IDE endpoint available.', so the proxy still could not find a working JetBrains IDE endpoint.
