Does mongodb-mcp-server provide a tool to query official MongDB documentation?

  Status: fixed in v1.7.0 (per the maintainer comment from 2026-02-23). The request was tracked as MCP-270 and implemented in PR mongodb-js/mongodb-mcp-server#472; the maintainer confirmed that v1.7.0 now includes documentation tools.

  To get these tools, upgrade your mongodb-mcp-server to v1.7.0 or later. If you run a locally built server, the current iteration was also available to try from the PR branch before the release.

  The thread does not say what the new documentation tools are called, nor whether they support selecting a specific MongoDB version for versioned docs, so after upgrading check the tool list that your MCP client exposes. You can also inspect the repo's README at the v1.7.0 tag.

  Note: while this closed as completed, if you need the exact tool names or version-selection behavior, you'll have to verify them in the release notes or the tool listing in your MCP client rather than relying on this issue thread.
