Does azure-skills support Azure Local skills in sovereign clouds?
I'm using microsoft/azure-skills and need to know whether Azure Local skills are available when working in a sovereign Azure environment. Does enabling the sovereign cloud configuration also add Azure Local-specific skill coverage, or is that a separate gap?

Status: explained. Azure Local skill coverage is not currently available in azure-skills; a contributor confirmed it is a known gap, and tracking was moved to the microsoft/github-copilot-for-azure repository (May 2026).
Sovereign cloud configuration is a separate, supported feature documented in the repository README under "Sovereign cloud configuration". It configures the skill runtime/endpoints for a sovereign Azure environment. As clarified in the thread, enabling it alone does not add Azure Local-specific knowledge or workflows: sovereign cloud support is about runtime/endpoint configuration, while Azure Local coverage is product/domain coverage that is still missing even when Azure Local is managed through the standard Azure/Arc control plane.
The thread does not describe a workaround for the Azure Local gap. The only concrete next step mentioned is that work was moved to microsoft/github-copilot-for-azure, so that repo is the place to watch for future Azure Local coverage.
Did this work for you? What @kvenkatrajan tried on GitHub (Didn't work)
A contributor asked whether the request referred to Sovereign cloud support and linked the README's "Sovereign cloud configuration" section. The follow-up clarified that sovereign cloud configuration is a different ask and does not add Azure Local-specific coverage.
