Google Sheets export_format=pdf returns XLSX from get_drive_file_download_url

Using Taylorwilsdon/google_workspace_mcp, I call get_drive_file_download_url on a Google Sheets file with export_format="pdf", but the tool returns an XLSX file (MIME application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.spreadsheetml.sheet) and the response note says it exported to XLSX. Why is the PDF format ignored, and is there a fix?

The maintainer confirmed this was a feature request: PDF export for Google Sheets was not supported in google_workspace_mcp, so the tool fell back to XLSX and reported that in the response. A PR to add PDF export support was submitted, and the issue is closed as completed, but the thread does not name a specific release or version containing the fix.

No config or flag workaround was provided in the thread. If you need a PDF from a Sheet before the fix ships, the only workaround mentioned is the manual Google Sheets UI path: File → Download → PDF.

If you rely on programmatic PDF exports, check the project releases for the PR that added sheet PDF export rather than treating export_format as authoritative. In the meantime, treat the XLSX fallback as expected behavior on versions without the fix.

What a GitHub user tried on GitHub (Didn't work)

Called get_drive_file_download_url with export_format="pdf" on a Google Sheets file, then inspected the returned MIME type and downloaded the file.
