Status: still open — no maintainer response in the thread, but two community workarounds were reported between Apr 25 and May 1, 2025.
- Enable the server in Cursor: open Cursor Settings > MCP and confirm the TalkToFigma MCP server is enabled. One commenter said this fixed the stuck-joining-channel state for them.
- Restart everything and use localhost: another commenter restarted the Figma plugin and the Cursor/Cline MCP plugin, and ran the MCP server in a terminal using a local host. They called this setup "much more stable" than the non-localhost option, but it requires keeping the MCP server process running in that terminal.
- A bare restart of the client was also suggested, but the thread doesn't confirm it resolved the stuck state.
General advice: the report only contains a screenshot of the stuck join state, so there is no error text for anyone to diagnose. If you open a new issue, include the MCP log output from Cursor's MCP panel; without the underlying error, maintainers can't tell whether the channel is joined or stuck.
