Goose CLI stops after first step with GitHub Copilot Claude models — any fix?
Using goose CLI on Apple Silicon (M1/M3 Pro) with GitHub Copilot as the provider and Claude models such as claude-3.5-sonnet, the agent completes only the first step of a task and then waits for another prompt instead of continuing. The Developer tools extension is enabled. Is this a known issue with a fix or workaround?

This thread is closed as completed, but it contains no fix: a Goose maintainer moved discussion and resolution to block/goose#5510, so check that issue for the current status.
The reporter reproduced the behavior with claude-3.5-sonnet through GitHub Copilot on Apple Silicon (M1 and M3 Pro). Two other users confirmed the same stop-after-first-step behavior with claude-sonnet-4, gemini-2.5-pro, and claude-sonnet-4.5 through the same provider. No configuration change, CLI flag, or workaround was provided in this thread.
General advice: follow issue block/goose#5510 for the resolution and retest with the latest goose release, since the thread does not say when or whether a fix shipped. If you need multi-step runs to continue uninterrupted, you may need to use a different provider until the Copilot integration is updated.

Reproduced the issue with claude-3.5-sonnet via GitHub Copilot: the agent performed the first step and then stopped, requiring another prompt to continue.
