When will slack-mcp-server ship the merged Slack bot token support (v1.1.27)?

I'm using slack-mcp-server v1.1.27 and want to authenticate with a Slack bot token. Bot token support was already merged into the repository, but the published package didn't include it yet. Is there a released version that contains it, and which version should I install?

Resolved: the maintainer responded to this request by linking to the v1.1.28 release tag, so upgrade to v1.1.28 or later. The issue and comment don't explicitly list the v1.1.28 release notes, so after upgrading, check the release notes or README to confirm the bot token feature is included and to find the exact configuration syntax (env var names, Slack app setup). The thread is closed as completed.

General advice: after upgrading, make sure the token you pass is a Slack bot token (starts with xoxb-) and that the bot has the OAuth scopes it needs, then restart your MCP client (Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code) so it loads the new package version. If you still get auth errors, verify which token format the release notes expect. Keep the bot token scoped to the minimum permissions your use case requires, and avoid committing the token to config files that get checked into version control.

What a GitHub user tried on GitHub (Outcome unclear)

The reporter asked the maintainers to publish a new release, noting that Slack bot token support had already been merged into the repository.
