    brave-search-mcp-server Docker image fails: Cannot find module '/app/run'?

    The brave-search-mcp-server Docker image pulled on 2025-08-09 fails to start when run through ToolHive with Error: Cannot find module '/app/run' (MODULE_NOT_FOUND, empty requireStack). The same server works via npx, and the reporter suspects the Dockerfile. Is there a known fix for the Docker startup failure?

      No fix was identified in this thread — the maintainer closed the issue on 2025-09-10 without a confirmed workaround or fixed version.

      On 2025-08-09 the reporter pulled the latest brave-search-mcp-server Docker image and ran it through ToolHive. The container failed to start with:

      Error: Cannot find module '/app/run'
code: 'MODULE_NOT_FOUND'
requireStack: []

      The reporter suspected the Dockerfile, since the same server worked when run via npx. No image tag or package version was given in the thread. The maintainer said they were not familiar with ToolHive, asked for an example of an MCP server that runs reliably in that environment, later asked whether the issue still existed, then closed the issue. Root cause was never established.

      The one thing confirmed to work: run the server with npx instead of the Docker image. The exact npx command was not provided in the thread.

      General advice if you hit the same error: pin your container to an older image tag that you know worked and test new tags before deploying; also try a plain docker run outside ToolHive to see whether ToolHive is involved. Those steps are not confirmed fixes — they just help isolate where the failure comes from.
