Does Roo-Code support images returned by MCP tools like Figma get_image?
I am using Roo-Code with MCP servers such as the Figma MCP server. The get_image tool returns screenshots, but Roo-Code never displays them in the chat view. Is MCP image rendering supported, and is there a setting, patch, or PR that enables it?

Status: not implemented in the mainline release. The feature request, opened 2025-06-29, was closed as NOT_PLANNED by a maintainer on 2026-01-27. The maintainer said the linked Linear issue had been archived/completed, and no merged code, configuration option, or workaround is included in this thread.
What the thread tells you:
- Roo-Code's MCP handling in this period processed text tool results only, so screenshots from tools like the Figma MCP server's get_image could not be shown.
- There is no user-facing setting in the thread that enables MCP image rendering.
- A contributor asked an automation agent to attempt the work, and comment 5 reports a PR (#7925) that claims to add base64 validation, MIME type validation, size and count limits, UI rendering changes, and tests. The proposed settings were mcpMaxImagesPerResponse (default 5) and mcpMaxImageSizeMB (default 2MB). That PR is not confirmed as merged in this thread; the issue was later closed as stale.
- Practical takeaway: this thread offers no workaround for getting MCP-returned images into Roo-Code. If you need this today, check the status of PR #7925 separately or use a different client that already renders MCP images. As general advice, verify any pending PR yourself before depending on it.
Did this work for you? What @mahmoudmoravej tried on GitHub (Didn't work)
A user tried to use the Figma MCP server's get_image tool to retrieve screenshots in Roo-Code and reported that this workflow was blocked because the returned image was not displayed.

Did this work for you? What a GitHub user tried on GitHub (Outcome unclear)
An automation agent opened PR #7925 claiming a complete implementation of MCP image rendering with base64 and MIME validation, configurable limits (mcpMaxImagesPerResponse, mcpMaxImageSizeMB), expanded tests, and UI support. The issue was later closed as stale without the PR being accepted in the thread.
