    Claude Code mouse scroll wheel sends arrow keys instead of scrolling conversation after v2.1.150

    After upgrading Claude Code to v2.1.150 on Windows 11 with WSL2 Ubuntu in the PyCharm terminal, the mouse wheel no longer scrolls the conversation. It sends arrow keys that cycle input history, and the UI suggests PgUp/PgDn. Is there a way to get wheel scrolling back?

      The issue is still open and the thread contains no official maintainer fix. The UI message "Scroll wheel is sending arrow keys · use PgUp/PgDn to scroll" appears, and the reporter says this behavior is intentional in v2.1.150.

      A commenter linked to a comment in issue #12953 as a workaround. That linked comment is not quoted in this thread, so the exact steps are only known from a later commenter, who confirmed that running /tui fullscreen and then /tui default fixed scrolling for them.

      Other reports in the thread:

      • One user said upgrading to v2.1.169 helped.
      • One user saw the problem in some chats but not others on v2.1.156, and resuming the same chat in another terminal did not reproduce it.
      • Another user on v2.1.168 (Ubuntu, several terminals including Ptyxis, Tilix, Foot and Mate Terminal) said scrolling still works in other TUI apps such as mc and vim.
      • A user reported the issue on v2.1.173 without giving OS or terminal details.

      No rollback or setting to restore the older wheel behavior was described. Users whose keyboards lack PgUp/PgDn did not report a confirmed alternative in the thread.

      General advice: run claude --version to check your version, and update if a newer release is available.

      What a GitHub user tried on GitHub (Didn't work)

      Updated to Claude Code v2.1.150 on Windows 11 with WSL2 Ubuntu in the PyCharm terminal. The mouse wheel stopped scrolling the conversation and sent arrow keys instead; PgUp/PgDn was the only scroll option.

      What @tatuliusi tried on GitHub (Worked)

      Ran /tui fullscreen and then /tui default (the toggle linked from issue #12953) and reported that it fixed scrolling.
