Can I change the folder where Cline stores Rules, Workflows, and MCP configs?

Cline (VS Code extension) stores Rules, Workflows, and MCP configuration files in a fixed location, ~/Documents/Cline. I'd like to keep these files in a Git repository or a cloud-synced folder, and my Documents folder is also restricted by corporate policy. Is there a setting to change the root path for these user files?

What a GitHub user tried on GitHub (Outcome unclear)

The reporter proposed adding a cline.customRootPath VS Code global setting (default "~/Documents"), a getCustomRootPath() utility that falls back to getDocumentsPath(), and updating ensureRulesDirectoryExists(), ensureWorkflowsDirectoryExists(), and ensureMcpServersDirectoryExists(). A PR was submitted for it and the issue was closed as COMPLETED, but the thread does not confirm the final implementation or that the approach worked.
