When does the Python MCP SDK release Streamable HTTP transport?

I need the Streamable HTTP transport in modelcontextprotocol/python-sdk. The GitHub issue is closed, but v1.7.1 does not seem to contain the streamable HTTP changes. Which release includes this transport and where can I follow the implementation?

Status: fixed. The issue was closed as completed, and the Streamable HTTP transport implementation PRs were merged into the Python SDK. The thread does not name a release version.

A contributor commented that server and client transport PRs were out, some still pending review, and that after review they would merge and release, hopefully later that week or early the next week. The issue body update also said PRs were out, review was in progress, and once done, documentation would be added and the transport released.

The implementation is spread across PRs #553, #554, #561, #573, #587, #590, #591, and #595. PR #553 is described as the streamable HTTP server transport with state management, and PR #554 as stateless server support. The thread does not describe each PR individually.

A commenter noted that v1.7.1 did not seem to contain the streamable HTTP changes, which is why checking only that release would miss the implementation. As general advice, look at the python-sdk releases after v1.7.1 and check the release notes or changelog, since the thread itself does not state the exact first release version. One commenter also said they need this transport for a turn-based agent framework that cannot keep a long-term TCP connection, which is the use case this feature addresses.

What @bendavis78 tried on GitHub (Outcome unclear)

Pointed to PR #461 as the server implementation, saying it seemed to be missing formatting and type checks and that they had not tested it, then struck that out and pointed to PR #553 (server transport with state management) and PR #554 (stateless server support).

What @theresakern tried on GitHub (Outcome unclear)

After the PRs were merged, asked when the release with the changes would happen and reported that v1.7.1 did not seem to contain the streamable HTTP changes.
